We already sell coffee and some baked goods in addition to gelato, so we thought the cupcakes would be a natural addition to our sweet line.
They recall a simpler time, before the era of artisanal-gelato shops.
Needless to say, there are not many gelato stands.
An optimistic hazy sundrenched palette of citrus yellow-green, gelato and watermelon offset by cool white, indigo and powder blue.
I took them on as my friends; we'd circle through the city after class every day, then sit in the town square, dodging pigeons and eating gelato.
"What our challenge has been is that a lot of people in St. Louis don't know what gelato is," says Hoffius, 60.
