The ITC also organised the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition, co-ordinated the State Science and Technology Awards and took the lead in co-ordinating Hong Kong's participation in the China Hi-Tech Fair 2001 held in Shenzhen.
The programme is organised by the 10 member institutions of the Federation for Continuing Education in Tertiary Institutions (FCE). It is skill-based, with emphasis on biliteracy, trilingualism, information technology application and practical subjects.
In the year, the orchestra organised an International Conference on the Development of Chinese Music in February, and was invited to tour Singapore in June and Canada in November.
A third Writer-in-Residence programme is being organised.
