Yemeni politicians and negotiators from the Gulf Cooperation Council say President Saleh has agreed to a GCC proposal for him to step down within 30 days of an accord being signed with the opposition.
State television reported that President Saleh would only sign it in the presence of opposition leaders.

President Saleh, who has ruled Yemen for more than 32 years, is the focus of almost all opposition protests that have built up in the impoverished Arabian Peninsula nation over the past week.
The proposal would see President Saleh transfer power to his vice president within a month of an agreement with the opposition to grant him immunity from prosecution.
