By means of chemical composition analysis, hardness testing, non-metallic inclusion examination, metallographic examination, macro and micro-fractography fracture analysis were conducted.
Non metallic inclusions may be of different size and appearance.
The results showed that the major cause of reducing diameter was more non-metallic inclusion in the steel than standard value, billet segregation and shrinkage void.
