Leaves obovate-spatulate, cuspidate, 1,5 – 3 x 0,8 – 2,5 cm wide at the widest part, glaucous bluish-grey, often red-flecked beneath, margins reddish.
It can be distinguished from other congeners by having a coiled ribbon-shaped embolus and a spatulate tibial apophysis widened distally and densely covered with fine denticles on its distal end.
Style twice 2 - cleft, each branch with a spatulate or capitate stigma.
